Cycling in the surroundings of Rotterdam

The surroundings of Van der Valk Hotel Ridderkerk lend themselves well to a wonderful bike ride, where you can choose between various cycling routes. For example, cycle to the center of Rotterdam! Rather explore nature in the area? Discover the beautiful polder landscape Hoekse Waard or the famous Kinderdijk where you cycle past many windmills.

Cycling a little closer to the hotel? That is also possible. So you can explore the surroundings of Barendrecht. Go in search of sights such as the Oud Barendrecht bridge, the Oude Maasheuvel, the Pendrecht windmill and the Watertoren. Looking for a nice vantage point over the Carnisse Grienden? From the bird watching hut Carnisse you have a beautiful view over the lake!

Cycling routes Rotterdam

The cycling junction network of the Netherlands is the perfect way to cycle beautiful routes. You cycle from node to node. The junction signs are along the cycle paths that are connected to the network. They stand at each intersection and point you in the direction of the next cycling node. We have put together a number of cycling routes using the cycle junctions, starting from our hotel (junction 42). These are available at our reception desk.

It is also possible to put together your own cycling route via the junction network. Here you determine the route and the number of kilometers. You can select junction point 42 as starting point. Junction 42 is located next to Hotel Ridderkerk. Then select nodes on the map to create your own route.

For the real cycling enthusiasts, we have also compiled a 2- and 3-day cycling package.
